Youth Zone

Congrats!

You’ve found the place where you can connect with other younger Lower Mainland queers, with a focus on having fun through sport & fitness, while making new queer & queer positive friends all at the same time.

Did you know?

…that there are more than a dozen queer sports groups in the Lower Mainland where you can connect, play & be yourself in a non-judgemental space? Regardless of your previous sports experience, or level of ability, they all have a spot for you. From low-impact bowling to high intensity ice hockey… check them out, because you’re sure to find a place that’s right for you!

More interested in organizing & planning things?

That’s great! Queer Active is seeking new & younger queers to join us. Whether as a board member; a volunteer; joining our Annual Sporting Event committee or another one of our many sub-committees we can definitely use your energy & we will always have a space for you. If any of these appeal to you or to chat about how your skills & energy can best be used please do not hesitate to contact us at: info@queeractive.com.

Want to play but don’t have the $’s?

Don’t worry! Queer Active has established a bursary fund to assist Lower Mainland queer youth with help paying for membership fees; off-setting equipment costs or assisting with transportation fees for those of you out in the burbs. For guidance & assistance with this program, please contact Aaron, our super-friendly Treasurer, at aaron@queeractive.com and he will answer any questions you may have regarding eligibility and how to apply.

Play a sport that doesn’t have its own queer group?

Queer Active will help you to organize and nurture a new one, with logistics support, marketing & promotional assistance and helping to offset start-up costs. Shoot us an email to info@queeractive.com, and share your ideas, so together we can make it happen!

Tell us what you think!

…about our Mission & Vision and how we can best connect with you ~ the queer youth of the Lower Mainland. Queer Active sees sport & fitness as a way to not only be healthy physically and mentally, but also as a safe and open place to develop new queer friendships in a fun environment away from the bars, clubs, bath-houses, booze & drug scenes. If you have any ideas on how we can better communicate with you, or want to be our Facebook/Twitter update manager, then please let us know at: info@queeractive.com. YOU are our future and we need all of your fresh ideas, modern input and feedback.

The Queer Active Board invites YOU to
